Peer review support for guest editors on your journal

Whilst support documentation and training for new editors is a standard element of the training program on submission systems, what you may not know is we can also offer training and process documentation to your guest editors.  Whether they are handling one special issue or managing a volume, we, the Electronic Editorial Systems team, are on hand to assist.

As with regular editor on-boarding, training will be tailored to the needs of the editor and journal, focusing on the journal’s workflow and best practice when using the system.  Similarly, our process documents are easily digestible and user friendly.

Video guides

We are currently trialling a series of short video guides for editors, which can also be shared with your guest editors.  These short videos help to guide editors through tasks on Editorial Manager and ScholarOne Manuscripts from start to finish, making them ideal for new editors struggling to navigate parts of the system for the first time. For more information on the trial, and for a full list of guides currently available, please see our recent Editor Resources post detailing this.

PRS Helpdesk

From help inputting reviewers’ details to creating a stub for special issue submissions, the Peer Review Systems Helpdesk is also on hand to offer help for ‘how to’ queries. To contact us, send an email:

For any more advanced queries, guest editors are encouraged to contact the journal’s Electronic Editorial Systems contact.

If you are thinking about running a special issue through your submission system and would like more information on how we can support you and your Editorial Team through this, please speak to your Electronic Editorial Systems contact.
