Inspired by frequently asked questions from editors, our dedicated EES (Electronic Editorial Systems) team share their top tips on getting the best out of your peer review management system. In this post, how do you remind reviewers to complete their report once they have agreed to review? Read on.

Here are some useful tips and suggestions for prompting reviewers to complete their report once they have agreed to do so.

  • Utilize the reminder email templates within the system. They can be configured to go at regular, set intervals.
  • Edit the wording in the reminder emails to sound more personal if necessary.
  • Highlight the benefits that peer review brings to scholarly publishing and thank them for the part they are playing in that.
  • Remind them where and how they can access the review. Provide direct links to make the process as easy as possible.
