Join in with the Open October celebrations

This October, we’re running a number of great offers in the build-up to, during, and after Open Access Week 2014 (20–26 October). If you or any of your peers are interested in submitting an OA paper then October is definitely the month to do it.

“Open October” won the name vote, and we’re pleased to showcase all that is happening as part of our Open October promotions on this page, which we’d encourage you to visit and circulate to your contacts.

There’s certainly a great deal to discover this month but to get you started, here’s a brief overview of the highlights:

  • The chance to win one of five Article Publishing Charge (APC) credits, meaning free open access publication of your accepted article (applicable to 90% of our journals).
  • Up to 65% discount on APCs for over twenty Taylor & Francis Open and Routledge Open journals.
  • Zero APCs on three Open journals for a limited time.

We would encourage you to register to receive the Open Access Bulletin if you haven’t done so already. Not only will this keep you up to date with the latest news and offers from the Taylor & Francis / Routledge OA program but, by registering between September24 and October 24, 2014, you’ll automatically be entered into the draw to win an APC credit, valid for the next twelve months.

Winners will be announced on @TandFOpen on what we’re calling #GoldFriday (October 24, 2014).

For ultimate accessibility and to provide even greater global visibility to the Taylor & Francis journals portfolio, we’re providing information about all these Open October offers in six different languages – Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. The pages are supported by language-specific emails and social media posts to ensure more users hear about these opportunities in a language they can easily understand.

Finally, we want to share with you the results of the 2014 Open Access Survey. Test your theories and challenge your assumptions on authors’ attitudes to OA using all the data from the 2014 Open Access Survey, now on Figshare. Tell us what you discover and you could win an APC waiver on the journal of your choice. Find out more.
